If you simply want to get an idea of what my pricing rationale is,
read below.
Fees depend upon how much work I have to do. Here
is an example: If your reception is in the Riverside Room of
the Binghamton Regency, it takes a lot more labor to get
into that room than it does to get into the Ballroom at the
very same Binghamton Regency. (I'm referring to how much time and
effort it takes to get my equipment set up in the room.)
Therefore, the same type of event, in the same building, at the same time of day, will cost
more in the Riverside Room then it would in the Ballroom.
There is also an "in-season" vs.
"out-of-season" component. Winter time is cheaper than
summertime because there is less demand for my services
during the winter. For the same reason, Friday night is
cheaper than Saturday night.
Another component in the price is how much
time I spend to customize music and activities for the event
before it even happens. For example: With weddings, I set up
all of the special music and events so that it reflects your
unique taste for fun and romance. With Bar/Bat Mitzvah
receptions, I do that too, but on top of that I bring in
games and activities for the kids. Contrast all that with a
simple holiday party where I just show up with no
preparation needed at all. Surely the price should be
different for each of these types of events.
So, you are just looking for a ball park
price? Prices range from $100.00 per hour (for an easy access
hall, with no preparation needed and a Friday night or
Saturday out of season) to $200.00 per hour (Saturday, in
season, all the bells and whistles, plus a highly choreographed event
style). Prices tend to be even less than $100 per hour when
it is a non-holiday mid-week event.
